Re:[teacherartexchange] Old Home Week - Howdy Friends & New

Date: Fri Jul 03 2009 - 08:35:56 PDT

It is sooo good to have you oldsters checking in. I am amazed at how many
of you are retired or nearly so. At 69, I think about it but the economy
says keep going until I can see the light of day to pay off our house. I think
I have been with the list from its inception, when I returned to teaching
after doing nursing for 17 years. You all were my mentors and got me
through many confusing glitches. I cannot imagine how else I would have done it.
The IAD was also a key resource for me. Thanks, Judi and Roland.
Now for all you "Newsters". We are here for you as a resource to share our
experience and wisdom. Don't feel left out by us having a cyber-reunion. We
really mean a lot to each other and you will find this happening to you as
you stay on the list. You have no idea how we fought to keep this Getty
list going. Many thanks to Judi for all she did for that. Ken, although
retired, is still contributing with his books and curriculum. Ken has been one
of the key people in my teaching career, so I know his new ventures will be
fabulous. Can't wait!
May you all be blessed in your next year of teaching. I am convinced that
art teachers are the best people on any school staff.
