> How are your classes scheduled? (block, daily, trimester rotation, etc.)
> Daily - 50 min. class period, semester long
> How often does your curriculum connect with other subjects (i.e.
> history/English, etc.)
If you are talking how often I incorporate history/English/etc - almost
daily. However, if you are talking about integrating with an actual other
class, then never. Those "core" classes have every student, where I only
have a portion of them at a time, so it makes it difficult to really tie in.
> What are the art requirements for your school?
One semester of fine arts - 1 semester of visual art, vocal music, or band
fulfill this requirement
> Do you have an art club? No
> Do you assign homework such as sketchbook projects or...? Yes, one
> sketchbook due weekly, with assigned subjects
> What grades are included in your middle school? 7 & 8
> Does the curriculum build upon preceding years or is each year
> independent of the others?
Each year is independent of the others, as is each semester. When students
are allowed to take one semester or 4 semesters, with a mix of 7 & 8th
grades, variety in curriculum is a must
> Do you participate in competitions and/or exhibits outside of school?
> One - county art exhibit
> Are you public or private? Public
> How do you assess? effort, personal growth, assignment objectives met
