[teacherartexchange] African Unit

Date: Sat Jul 30 2005 - 07:32:34 PDT

Hi guys,
I have one last project for my Methods class. I have to create a unit with
five lessons. It needs to be pretty detailed, and each lesson needs to have
enough stuff in the content outline to fill a class period. I've been thinking
about creating a unit on African art for maybe 8th graders and have them make
masks. I'm trying to figure out the best way to organize it. Maybe I'll talk
about why African art is important on day one and have them write some sort
of essay on it. Day two I might talk about masks. Day three I might show some
techniques...something like that. I have to have a new assessment every day,
so I can't just assign them a mask project that lasts five days. I also have
to incorporate a question and answer session in each day. Any ideas? Thanks!
