Re:[teacherartexchange] digital camera

I bought my Canon Powershot S60 from B&H for a great price when it first
came out. It should be much cheaper now. It's a 5 megapixel camera.
What I love about it is the LENS!!! It's the only camera I know of that
has one lens that shoots telephoto OR wide angle! I love the wide angle
capability for shooting groups of kids or murals in my classroom. My
other cameras really can't capture as much as this camera can when set
in wide angle. My other digital is a Sony Mavica. I also love the size
of it. It is not so small that it feels like I might drop it, yet it is
small enough to throw into my purse. You can also buy an extra housing
for this camera in case you want to take it underwater if you snorkle!
The automatic setting works great in the classroom. Skin tones look
beautiful and natural. It has an optional vivid setting if you like
extra bold colors in your pictures. There is a way to set your prefocus
so that you can easily select the portion or portions of your shot that
you want to be the focus (doesn't have to be center.) It also has a
good macro for closeup photos. I use it to take shots of my student's
(and my own) jewelry work. I love my powershot!
