Sounds to me like your are a fabulous overcomer, not a failure. Keep going
and believe you have what it takes. Don't listen to your "old tapes". People
who take the risks are the most victorious. Every new thing is a risk of
failure for all of us. Anyway, whose standard determines what failure is?
Ourselves? Why not call it a journey. Some roads are smooth, others may not take us
far. So what? Live life well.
