Below is a worm warning from a reputable online newsletter. Click the
link and study the characteristics described in #8; the e-mails you may
get look _very_ legit. Don't open the attachment!

_Mydoom Worm has a New Variant! _______

Yet another variant of the Mydoom worm was released into the wild this
week by the name of W32.Mydoom.M@mm. Using its own SMTP (Simple Mail
Transfer Protocol) engine, it circulates itself through email. This is a
mass-mailing worm that drops and executes a backdoor that listens on TCP
port 1034. The tricky email contains a spoofed ‘From:’ address while
the ‘Subject:’, body text and attachment varies. This affects Microsoft
Windows (95, 98, NT, 2000, XP, Me, & 2003 Server) users. The threat has
been downgraded to a level 3 and considered wild with a high
distribution. For optimal security it is suggested that you update your
