Wow, Elizabeth! Thank you! My husband teaches creative writing and he
uses art as inspiration for his students on a regular basis. We never
knew it had a name. AND, in my school, our 6th graders have a special
Art A La Carte, docent led art appreciation unit that takes place in
their English classes that is specifically geared to writing poetry
about art. The unit is extrememly successful at getting kids to open up
more with their poetry. I have been MAJORLY impressed by the poetry
that comes out of that unit. During the time that they are writing, I
put a collection of artwork on the student pages of our website for
them to use as inspiration. Seeing as how both my husband and I and our
students and our docents are all doing this already, it's nice to know
that it actually has a name!!! THANK YOU! The journals at the end look
great, too.
