I am completely revamping my Art I class. I am bored with it and although I
haven't heard any complaints and kids enjoy my classes, I figure if I am bored
then that's not good!
I am redoing my lessons and working on my semester plans. I teach every day
for 90 minutes. We generally have 3-4 days where kids are dropping and adding
courses, and I always hate to start something big in case someone comes late,
or drops. (Stuff like making portfolios or beginning sketchbook work,
long-term assignments, etc.)
Do you mind sharing your "first days" of Art I- or any class for that
matter? I just need to think in a whole new direction. The second week is when I
normally begin the art history textbook and begin the basic art skills,
elements etc etc. I am trying to think of activities, team building "games" or
just general art stuff that is a new twist on the old!
