Bergie-
I read your post today with great interest, and I have similar problems in my
classroom. I find myself MANY times during the week, not teaching art like I
am supposed to be doing, but discussing sex, gang banging and/or violence in
the neighborhood, drive-bys, murders (of parent, cousin or sibling), guns,
thefts, and last, but not least-- birth control and teen pregnancies. Believe
me, ART is the last thing on their minds.
