I went to Hobby Lobby the other day to purchase two pens and some copper
sheet. I left with 186.00 worth of FUN items to add to our still life
collection!!
I bought:
3 yellow taxi cars that are ceramic boxes
1 large abstract cat cookie jar
2 very strange and wonderful whimsical items...one is a teapot that is
sort of a Laurel Burch type cat, but there is a clock stuck in the front
of it. The other is a taller cat vase with a clock in the front of it.
The cat vase is painted like a landscape, and there is a butterfly on a
spring on it's head. For the more macho kids, I bought a GREAT ceramic
monkey that is crouched down, holding up a bowl over his head. I bought
a brown and white African patterned orb to put in the bowl, and some
African figures. It freaked me out that I bought so much, but I can just
tell that these are going to be well received. I'll probably set up two
still lifes and let the kids take their pick...whimsical or African-ish.
Once again, give them some choice when possible. They love being able
to choose. They'll look great just sitting out in my room, too. What's
money???? Uh....I really should not have spent that much, but oh
well...
