Ruth-
Deadline requirements are built into my final "scoring rubric". Points are
taken off each day it is late -up to 20% of the total points. If it is A work-
it turns into a B if it is turned in later than a week. If the students know
they will still get credit for their late work -they will finish it. I will
not grade UNFINISHED assignments. If they try to turn them in for partial
credit- their grade is a "0". I am consistant with all art courses Art 2,3,4,5 &
6. With my art 1 students- I am a lot more leanient- I accept late work for
full credit -but that stops at ART1.

PS: I have used tin snips for cutting small pieces of metal- they may be
considerably cheaper for you.
