THe best way to learn something is to teach it. When I started having
to teach drawing in my art job, my drawing improved SIGNIFICANTLY!
Letting kids teach kids not only makes me a more sand and happer art
teacher, it lets kids know that I count on them to learn, and they feel
important to get to teach someone else. When I teach sewing, and a few
other things, I post a chart for skills they need to learn. As they
learn the skill, they put their initials up on the chart. Then when I
am busy, I ask kids to look at the chart to see who else can teach them
that skill. I tell them that I want them to try 8 out of 10 skills or
all of them, whatever, and the chart will let me know what all they
learned. It works.
