I love your "Work" rule. In the book Art and Fear there is a wonderful
anecdote about a ceramics teacher who tells one half of the class they will be
graded on the quantity of work they produce....X pounds = A, Y pounds= B, etc.
The other half of the class has to produce only one pot...but it has to be
perfect. At the end of the marking period the first half has many many examples of
work to show for their efforts, many of them very successful. The other half
has nothing. Lesson being...if we just stick to our work we are bound to
succeed. We doom ourselves if we are striving only for perfection.
