lol...I knew as soon as I pushed the send button that there were bound
to be people who like Kinkade in this group. You nailed it with the
marketing thing. It's just "EVERYWHERE". I guess I think of good art
as being something that you can't buy zillions of, something sort of
rare. It's just such a prescription to me. And I think a lot of the
people who flock to his art don't care if they can buy one in so many
malls across America...the DO just like the image. I sort of see it as
something that he does without feeling anymore...just for the marketing
and the $$. And yes, passing off a gazillion prints as "ART" does
bother me. And the manipulation of the public eye, as you put it
brilliantly, is right up there. I don't think he has had to suffer for
his art,hahaha,like the rest of us! It's just too easy for him. Kind
of like Warhol's factory.
