I can't open doc either,
I have a techie friend who tells us how:
He said that if I want to be able to open up attachments that are sent to
me, I must ask the sender to send them NOT in a Word Doc (.doc) but in a
Rich Text Format (.rtf)...all anyone needs to do to convert from .doc to .rtf is
highlight the document, go to "File", then "Save As", and change the
name/title of the document so that it ends in .rtf instead of .doc.
This may be redundant because I haven't read all of my mail but try this for
the Mac owners if possible, I hate not being able to open mail or afford new
software.
