Lichtenstein's work was the inspiration for some of our 4th grade play sets last spring. Looked for but couldn't find that honeycomb ribbon. The students ended up printing those dots by hand. The other classes wanted to know what all those dots were! What a great teaching opportunity the setwork became!

there is a craft supply known as honeycomb ribbon or punchinello - it is the by-product of making sequins! i think this would work really well for making the benday dots, as a stencil. its pretty stiff plastic stuff, so it'd be easy to work with and you could wipe it clean. here's a picture/link: http://www.bjcraftsupplies.com/cord-ribbon/5misc1.asp i have bought it before for cheeep - around 50 cents a yard. check in the fabric/craft store.
