I like to teach with one project at a time that will lead into or use the
previous project as a resource. Sequential teaching of art concepts that
build on each other is how or book is structured. We talk about six
techniques of drawing. The six techniques start with a basic form drawing
with simple objects and the next uses that technique to do another
composition idea and build on more complicated drawing techniques.
I did give a group of project ideas, one time, to my art 4's for the last
project of the year and it was a big mistake with some not liking any, to
some that can't make up their mind. Some don't like to be given too loose a
choice because they have no structure themselves. The ones who can handle it
do well but the others outweighed that and I will not do it again.
