Why couldn't you draw a grid that was the size of the acrylic you wanted to
attach the grid to, and then have them run off in the number you need at
Kinkos as a transparency? Attatch the transparency to the acrylic grid and
make two like two inch wooden blocks with a box cut in each one to hold the
acrylic sheet. Seems like it would work to me, and it could be used over and
over.
Kinkos charges a 1.00 to make a transparency. There would be a small
investment in the beginning, but it would recover its costs, many times over,
because it could be reused.
