Wow Kathy, when do you find time to hang all the work? Do you have any tricks for doing it quickly?

I don't keep portfolios at the middle school level. All student work is graded then hung for a minimum of 2 weeks. After that I pass them back, however I do hold a few for special exhibitions that I return before the year ends. If I keep their work, I send a letter home that tells the parents where their childs work will be and for how long.
My Advanced HS students show their work all year round. It may be in the HS cafeteria, Auditorium lobby, Board room at the Administration Bldg or at the local HS exhibition at the Kalamazoo Institute of Art or a locally sponsored competion. Wherever it is on display, my students get their work back at the end of the year or if they have a college portfolio review (or if they come to me and request it). My art 1 class (Beginning HS art) is basically the same as the Middle school- I display at school, then return the work to the students.
