storage/management of sketchbooks/portfolios

I use the chart storage boxes from SAX Arts and Crafts (I am sure Judy N.
will supply us with the page#!) I use one for each class. Yes...you do
have to have the space for this...but I have found them so valuable in
helping me keep organized. Even if I don't have time to file or hang the
work, I can always just put it in the appropriate box and the kids will file
it later. This system also makes each student more responsible for his/her
work. Makes assessment much easier. I just pull out a class (or half a
class) flip through the work and make notes. I send home the work when the
first art grade goes out (in March if you can believe that!!!).

Each student has a portfolio. Students 2-5 have a sketchbook, which lives in
the portfolio. Even the little kinders can manage their own portfolios,
filing work and putting the portfolio back in the box.
