This is a good question which I dealt with this year. I don't let anyone sit
and do nothing when they say they're finished and the rest of the class needs
more time. First, I would question the student what they could do more to
complete the artwork. I had a student last year who was a very quick worker.
Granted she could have done better work if she slowed down but she did
complete the projects. She had to do some kind of artwork when she was
finished...not work for another class. She fell in love with calligraphy
which she learned in class so whenever she finished early she would do
calligraphy. This was fine with me and I would even accept some of the work
for extra credit. EAC
