Re: Need advice-colored pencils

HI All,
I find the way everyone has a system for their supplies very
interesting.I like this train of discussion. Always learning something
fantastic on this listserv !!!
If given a choice between 12 and 24ct packs, definitely 24 more color
variety, helps my elementary students not to do grass just 1 green and sky
just 1 blue.
I got a great deal one time on RoseArt 50ct packs. But they are now mixed
in with Prismacolor, Crayola, Prang. I place them in 3 boxes divided into
warm, cool and earth and skin colors.
Class packs are a nice solution for replacing basic colors, but the extra
jazzy colors in bigger sets need to be purchased once and a while just to
show the kids the possibilities !
I do highly recommend getting good metal sharpeners. (I do count them at
the end of each class so they don't disappear). Putting two on each table,
with recycled yogurt cups to catch the sharpenings. The kids learn early
never to put colored pencils in the grindy sharpener.
Hope this helps,
Christine Besack :)
