To all:
The NAEA and the field of art education lost a longtime contributor and
advocate with the death of Ms. Susan Wienstock, NAEA Southeastern Regional
Vice President and member of the NAEA Board of Directors. Susan succumbed
to cancer on Tuesday morning, July 02, 2002. A resident of Florida and
Art Teacher at Mt. Dora High School, Susan was active as an educational
leader and very involved with the NAEA and Florida Art Education
Association right up to the time of her death.

Susan completed two years as Southeastern Regional Vice President-elect
and began her first year as Southeastern Regional Vice President in March
following the national convention in Miami Beach, Florida. Susan's
contributions and accomplishments have distinguished her in the field.

A memorial scholarship has been started in Susan's name and will be
awarded to a graduating senior from Mount Dora High School who will be
seeking a degree in art education.

Donations for the fund may be made to the Mount Dora Community Trust, in
care of The Susan Weinstock Memorial Scholarship, P.O. Box 1406, Mount
Dora, FL 32757.

On a personal note: Susan was a good person who always had a smile and a
kind word for everyone - her enthusiasm and love of art, children, her
friends, and family will be her legacy - the art education community in
Florida will miss her terribly.
