The material the kiln is made of, along with the size of the firing chamber, hole for the burner and damper opening all have an effect on the kiln's ability to reach temperature. What are the specs on this kiln? Try closing down the damper opening. If you are using a venturi burner you should be able to adjust it to allow more air to burnable to increase the heat from the burner. -Numo Numo Jaeger Ceramics Department Coordinator Studio One Art Center Oakland CA 94609 (510) 597-5027 At 10:47 PM 7/3/01 -0500, you wrote: >>>> ArialHello, My husband just built me a raku kiln and we did a test run tonight. We can't get the temperature high enough, we were shooting for cone 06 but could only get to about 1650 degrees. Can anyone on this list give me any suggestions? I really appreciate any help or advise. Thank you, Carol --- leave-artsednet-5780X@lists.getty.edu <<<<<<<< ---
