       You've got it right! Chi-HOO-Li. I showed all of my students a
wonderful video about him this year....I think it is just called Chihuly
(maybe Glass Master as a subtitle). It really shows the collaborative process
that he uses...and that seems to be necessary to create the kinds of forms he
creates. The kids were mesmerized! Afterwards, we had many good discussions
(middle school) about who the REAL artist was and whether or not Chihuly WAS
an artist...and assistants, all sorts of things. I too saw an exhibit of his
work, including a glass ceiling, in Minneapolis at the MIA. They have since
installed a Chihuly piece in the entryway that is spectacular! It was reallly
fascinating to see it being installed, one section at a time.
Mary, please forward the info on his exhibit in Milwaukee. I'm so eager to
see your new wing!
