Re: Chihully's Blown Glass (Long)

Chihully's installation exhibit
at the Norton in West Palm Beach 3 years ago was
breathtaking.....I literally gasped, and I wasn't alone in that reaction.
We saw parts from all his previous exhibits, the chandeliers, the sea-forms,
the persians. And a remarkable installation where he dropped the ceiling
with plexiglass panels and put his work , hundreds of pieces
over your head with the light shining above and through over you the
I was mesmerized...I didn't want to leave.
I can't remember anyone besides Tiffany who has
brought such an amazing rennaissance to glass like he has.
Unfortunately, the video of him that the museum sold to me shows him
in his bathtub between takes of his work.
And it wouldn't be appropriate for the young ones.
They wouldn't stop giggling and I'd get phone calls
about the movie with the naked man in a tub.
