portfolio class

I just looked at my fall schedule today and my district has me teaching a
high school "portfolio" class. It is for juniors and seniors who "major" in
art, to develop a portfolio. Full year course 40 mins a day. It sounds very
exciting, but I am a middle school teacher and don't really know where to
begin. Does anyone know of resources that might guide me?
