I don't know what grade levels but I found that with elementary a monthly
table captain was the ONLY one allowed out of his/her seat. The job
included: clean water on tables, paper for the next class, retrieving needed
supplies.... and clean up. This saved on confusion and "pointing fingers"
and also provided each child a sense of responsibility. They couldn't wait
for their turn. I had 4 students at a table so each became a captain 2x per
year. It worked GREAT! Every medium had it's own box of supplies and were
kept in cubbies according to table numbers which I also hung over the tables.
(markers, crayons, charcoal, pastels, sharpie blacks, assorted sharpie
colors, pencils, clay tools, etc. etc.) I used recycled diaper wipe
containers which were deep and took up less room on the tables. Cut the
