Re: Use for old mini-blinds?????

Date: Tue Jul 10 2001 - 04:16:08 PDT

I have two ideas for the mini blinds.

The first involves your whole class (or classes) working on
one project. I would take a poster and cut it up in slivers
the proportion of the slats of the miniblinds. I would
number each of the slivers, and mix them up and give each
kid a sliver. They in turn would transfer the image onto
the slats making sure to use a gridding method so that all
of their work is in proportion. Each kid then replicates
that sliver onto their miniblind. At the end, the put all
of their slivers together and they have a big painting. I
would probably design this piece so that it hung like the
blind when finished.

The second involves giving each kid about 7-9 of their own
slivers. I would then have them tape them together so they
are in essence “one” surface, and have them paint a painting
of something distinguishable..i.e. a face. After it dries I
would have them take it apart and scramble them up and
displayed them scrambled, and either hung like the blind,
hung like long strands, or fan them out.
