bullying

It has been found that kids that bully also are mean to animals. they have
learned
to kick and mistreat animals at their parents sides. I talk about kindness
to animals in my classroom when we begin drawing animals - just a good tie in
and I have
my Principals permission to bring in our Humane Society someday to talk about
kindness to animals. Kids tell me horror stories about what goes on with
their
animals at home - one kid said he had to help his Dad drown some puppies that
weekend. He said I cried and Dad hit me. We are rural so attitudes towards
animals are abit "strict" but I still think animals diserve humane treatment
on all
levels.

Also I have found that sometimes when I question a bully about what bothers
him.
I can get to a sister or brother that bullies them - or stuff that goes on on
the bus -
or a divorce going on etc. they hurt and they want to get rid of that hurt
by hurting someone else.

I would like to hear others thoughts on this as bullying is one thing I can;t
stand
in life - can;t solve every case of it but want to make my students - loving
people
at least on some level.

Enough - Have a sparkling Fourth of July!!! Roberta
