Curriculum Ideas?

I am trying to work on my curriculum for my FUNDAMENTALS OF ART I class and
would like to find out how others divide their school year. Right now we
focus on black and white drawing the first half of the year and color using
colored pencil and pastels the second half. I am not satisfy with this set
up and want to change it. I would like to expand the various art materials
the students use, but funds are short. If anyone has any suggestions I would
appreciate them.
