Re: stress realities

A big part of what I have to remember when it comes to
stress at my job is this which I have written on a piece of
paper and bring out to remind me:

There are no victims, only volunteers.

I think I big part of who I am is someone who hates to say
'no' because I want people to like me, so therefore I have
students, staff, administrators, neighbors, relatives and
husband asking me to help them out. Over the years I
realized something. They like me! So, I have been able to
say "no" easier now. (Usually with a smile). I can't save
everyone, do everything and make everyone happy, or at least
so says my cholestrol level! I had my cholestrol checked,
and a stress test taken to make ME wake up and smell the
coffee! AND, I also realize that there are other people on
the staff that are just as resourceful as I am, and they are
willing to take up the slack! (those youngin's)
