As long as it's summer time and we have time to talk about favorite colors, I
have a story to tell. When I was a child about 8 years old I got bad heat
exhaustion from being in a hot car with freshly picked lilacs. From that day
on purple things made me feel queasy. One of my daughters (13 years old now
and an incredibly talented artist) has a love affair with purple. I've
respected her passions by dressing her in purple when she was young, painting
her room purple, buying her purple sheets and towels, etc. I must admit that
at this point the color purple doesn't upset me any more but I don't see
myself decorating my bedroom in purple in the near future. We're so affected
by our childhood, likes and dislikes. Thanks for making me think of this
again. :) Eileen
