Re: children painting on canvas

Personally, I'd prime the canvas. I think it gives the kids more control.
And then I'd use cheap wall paint and mix my own colors and put them into
squeeze bottles. (get the kids to bring them in and you'll have hundreds)
They can then use palettes or little paper cups or something, to hold their
paint. When the whole thing is dry, you might have them use paint markers
to write their names, add detail, texture, etc. Or even permanent black
markers for enhancing lines. This sounds like fun. Where will you
purchase the canvas? I find that cotton pillow ticking is the cheapest
canvas you can buy..at WalMart. It is only 36" wide, tho. If the blue
stripes bother you, you can prime with white. Two coats covers.
