I saw an exhibit at the domes in Milw using floating islands. Did this
with kids when I taught elementary school. We had a few dads that were
in construction. With styrofoam insulation and "good junque" kids
created their dream village or town or house with the stipulation that
it had to float, could contain no toxic material that would harm the
enviornment or fall off into the pond. We floated them with strings
attached. Kids had a ball. Took picnic to the pond too and made an
afternoon of it. Also took drawing media and had them record the
experience then write about it too. Ahhhhh the joys of elementary
enthusiasm. Was fun for me too. Jeanne in melting Wisc.
