I keep writing that some of you that are talking about imagination and
thinking and tv ought to get Chilton's book, Evolution's End. I will
encapsulate. They have done actual physiological brain studies that
show that a child's brain development is defective or incomplete when
they watch too much tv at an early age and on. What happens is that the
part of the brain that imagines thing we hear about or read does not
need to develop because we are already spoon fed these multitudinal
visual images. Hence no need for development. Reading, radio
listening etc does not effect it even enhances it. But the result for
learning is that the child cannot do critical thinking, or lessons the
ability, follow directions etc because they can't visualize solutions
and so on and so on.
