I'm working on a comprehensive literature review on the effects of
arts education in elementary grades on academic and other non-arts
outcomes. I'm looking for true or quasi-experimental research reports on
the effects of instruction in some kind of art modality (e.g., music,
visual arts, drama, dance, etc.) on an academic outcome, such as reading,
math, or science, or on some other non-art outcome such as self-esteem,
social skills, etc.
I've located reports through ERIC, PsychLit, Dissertation Abstracts,
and other sources such as published research reports, but I'm certain
there are many additional reports that I haven't found yet. If anyone can
point me to published or unpublished research or evaluation reports,
theses, or dissertations that fit this description, I would be very
thankful if you could give me the reference or tell me how I might obtain
the report. I'm mostly interested in research that used a comparison
group, but single-group studies and qualitative studies would still be of
