I teach in a middle school and have done lots with laser discs. They are a
great tool but CD roms have knocked them out of the market.
The National Gallery of Art in DC lets you borrow their discs for a school
year for free. At least they did the last time I checked about a year or two
Both of the National Gallery art discs are good, but the American Art one has
much better quality images.
The Louvre discs are excelllent too.
On the other hand, there are some poor quality discs out there that are just
redone bad videos. There is an O'Keeffe disc and a Metropolitian Museum of
Atrt disc that are of very poor quality.
If yopu get into laser discs and have a Mac let me know. I wrote hypercard
stacks for the discs that were in the Sax catalogs a few years ago.
