Acrylic vs. Tempera

Hi everyone...I need your opinion on what type of paint to use on this current
project of mine. I have built large panels ( 4'x6') of homasote framed with
pine. I am planning to have the kids paint murals on these as part of the
scenery for a fine arts production we are doing, and then later to use them
for exhibit panels.

I have primed the homasote with Kilz II. Do you think the tempera paint will
stay on without chipping or shall I use acrylic paint? I would appreciate
your input.

Thanks...Carol
