I find that the kids (younger ones, anyway) are more influenced by MY interpretation of a painting than the master work.
For example, with 2nd graders we studied Monet (both water lilies and some less known works). Then I instructed them to
think of a "quiet place" to paint like Monet. I did a different demo/example with each of 5 classes. There were several
in each class that exactly copied my work, and not one who copied Monet's. Guess I should feel honored!!
