Linda:

DBAE is a methodology for teaching in an interdisciplinary, cross-curricular,
and culturally diverse way that maintains art, or the arts, and its four basic
components (i.e., disciplines) as meaningful and central to all learning.

As we continue to teach through the arts, we are finding that DBAE is not one
of those approaches that can be explained in a few sentences. Look into our
website at <A HREF="http://www.art.unt.edu/ntieva/">NTIEVA HomePage</A> for
an exploration of DBAE. The site includes lessons, newsletters, information
about schools that are participating in a national school reform initiative
that is attempting to measure the effectiveness of arts-based schools, and
many art education links.
