I have a couple of suggestions. There is a most interesting book by Henri Matisse; I am not at home at the moment and don't remember the name--"On Art" ? or some such--esssays and writings he did about his art. Also, "If You Want To Write", by Brenda Ueland. This is a book that was specifically written for adults taking a writing class, but it is a beautifully written book about the act of creating--in any kind of medium. I used to recommend it to my students when I was teaching an adult watercolor class.
