How to color plasticine clay?

Hi,
My name is Ray and I teach in elementary school.
For years I have made animations with elementary students. Many times
the students would make clay animations. My problem is that I need
some way of changing the white plasticine clay to any color we want to
use. Does anyone know what pigment or paint base I can use? Any
information would be helpful. Thanks.
