color blindness

When I taught 1st grade and suspected a child was colorblind, I would show
him (It was always a boy in my experience) pages that were in the
encyclopedia under color blindness, They are colored dots that most of us
can look at and recognize the number. The test worked. I think they had
at least two and maybe three kinds .I think we all see colors differently.
