Off the top of my head I'd offer him a tray of colored chalks or pencils and
let him choose a color he can see, and a stack of different colored papers
and let him choose the paper as well. I'd even let him choose the objects
for the still life. that would let the teacher better understand what the
kid is seeing, and give the kid some security.
