Re: drawing - was calendar art

Say I can relate and you as a printmaker should too. I am not saying
at all that people should not learn to draw, but I also would have
encouraged this student to apply at art colleges. I think as
educators we should also be perceptive to those students/people who
are innately creative. Not everyone sees and learns in the same way.
Now don't get me wrong I am not trying to set off a war and do think
the fundamentals of art and as a teacher to best prepare students,
but I'm also saying to not dismiss someone who is creative and shows
it in a different way. there is also something to be said about art
schools> I believe they pick up more on someone's creativity and
potential then universities do.
