I have broached a similar question concerning the younger kids
im my school, K-1. I buy Art Masterpiece and other coloring
books, the most visually interesting ones I can find, like the
Dover books on Celtic design, or optical art design books.
Whether or not it's legal, I have been copying these books for
students to work on when they finish early. I used to do the
cart thing so I know that you could just pack some with you.
I try to include masterpieces they have studied so it rein-
forces the cirriculum. Other students become my "gallery workers."
I let them take down art work hanging in the hall, or mount and
hang new work. Young children really love to do this.
You could even make some worksheets for early finisher on
concepts like Warm/cool, or symmetry for them to work on.
