My problem is that I don't understand what Postmodern art is. Or for
that matter how are "we" defining modern art??? When you compare these
two isms to mannerism or romanticism--that doesn't compute to me because
I can describe the latter in terms of specific techniques, attitudes and
time frames. Are you calling modern art everthing after WW2?? How can
you lump so much together?? I once asked my mother to take slides
of some modern stuff and when I got them back from the store they were
Impressionists. I said to her--what's this?? She said they were the
modern art of her education!! Please give me some examples of how
modern art is defined in terms of time frame, ideology, work, artists and
also the same for post-modern. I believe that Bob Fromme send a huge
e-mail of postmodern philosophy several months back and I attempted to
absorb it to no avail. Please educate me! Sid
