For those interested in block scheduling, our block schedule is as
follows.....

We have 4 blocks a day, and 2 different days. (we call them red days and white
days -our school colors) the days rotate (one week we'll have 3 red days and
two white, the next week we have 3 white and 2 red). Our time is broken down
as follows.....

White 1 / Red 1 ..................7:35 am - 9:00
White 2 / Red 2 ..................9:10 - 10:54 (this period is longer for
channel 1 & anouncements)

Lunch.................................10:54-11:34

White 3 / Red 3 ...................11:34-1:04
White 4 / Red 4 ....................1:14-2:40

We have a 10 minute passing period between classes (our school is 2 seperate
buildings and has approx 1200 students)

It seems to work pretty well with around 90 minutes for classes and 8
different classes. We actually only teach 6 since our contract calls for a
daily planning period. (It's great having 90 minutes a day to organize!)
Teachers are required to be at work at 7:30 and may leave at 3:00 .
