I also struggle with the copying. Some of my students now know the
phrase"copyrighted image" They use it on each other now. It is hard. We
did take a group of Art Honor students on a field trip to zoo. They had a
fabulous time and got a lot of great drawings to use. I highly recommend
it. We also have the National Aviary in our city so that is also a good
trip.

At the Carnegie Museum one year, there was a workshop for teachers
called"Creative Copying" The lecture with slides and the followup exercise
were great. The museum educator showed the Millet, "Gleaners"? I think and
the Van Gogh "copy" Quite interesting. I'll look for my notes on this in
case anyone is interested. I had forgotten about that, but that was a good
lesson. Fran
